Kecia Cole Carson’s journey into the world of beauty began long before she held a pair of shears — it started in childhood, when she discovered her gift for working with her hands and her heart. Born in Dallas and raised in Fort Worth, Kecia was always drawn to creativity, connection, and uplifting others through her energy and presence.

After graduating from Polytechnic High School in 1986, Kecia knew exactly where her future was headed. She enrolled in Roffler’s Barber College, where her raw talent blossomed into professional mastery. With drive, purpose, and prayer, she quickly found her place behind the chair — and never looked back.
​
After working in two salons, Kecia was offered the chance to take over a space formerly known as A-1 Hair Salon. With vision and faith, she transformed it into A Touch of Magic Salon — a space where women didn’t just get styled, they were seen, heard, and empowered.
​
Over the past 36+ years, Kecia has developed a specialty in Platinum Pixie cuts, setting trends and turning heads across the DFW area. Her chair has become a sanctuary where generations of women return for confidence, care, and transformation — both inside and out. Whether it’s a classic cut or a total glow-up, Kecia’s goal is always the same: to help women fall in love with their reflection again.

But her impact goes far beyond the salon. Kecia is a minister, a praise team leader, a community servant, a construction entrepreneur, and the founder of Sisters of Strength, a nonprofit dedicated to uplifting women through empowerment and faith. Through it all, hair has been her ministry — and her calling.
